Wedding Series: Picking a Venue

Picking a Wedding Venue Tips

Today is my first post for my Wednesday Wedding Series! Every Wednesday this summer I will be posting about a wedding planning topic, and today I am starting with picking the venue!

Typically you should book your venue about one year previous to the date that you would like to get married on. Before you start looking at the venues of the city of your choice, make a rough copy of your guest list so you can have a ball park of the size that you need. Once you have a rough number just start googling! 🙂 I had a vision of a venue that I wanted, but I didn’t know exactly where it was going to be in Milwaukee. I started on theknot.com because once you register you can sort venues in the area you would like to get married by certain filters.

Once you have it narrowed down to a few options its time to go and look at some locations! After you leave each location it would be a good idea to write down the pros and cons of each venue so when you get home you can compare them.

When you start narrowing down your options my biggest advise is go with your gut and the one you love! If it is within your budget and you cannot not stop thinking about it, you have found the one. Your wedding is such a big event in your life and you want to love everything about so don’t let anyone talk you into something that you don’t want.

Below I am sharing some of my favorite photos of our venue from our Wedding Day.
